The journal Acta Gastro-Enterologica Belgica’s one and only Official Website is https://www.ageb.be, with a submission platform located on our publisher Universa’s servers: https://gastro-enterologica.universa.be.

How can you distinguish the FAKE website https://acta-gastroenterologica.be from the one and only REAL Official, Open-Source, website https://www.ageb.be, created in March 2020?

  • Our official website and logo colors are blue and cyan
  • Our official website contains all the articles published in our Journal Acta Gastro-Enterologica Belgica from 1998 to this year (see “previous issues”)
  • All our articles originate from many countries and are in the field of gastroenterology
  • Our publisher is Universa and is located in Belgium.

Before March 2020, we had as old domain https://acta-gastroenterologica.be for many years (<2006-2020), which we no longer needed.
A fraudster took advantage of that:

  • he/she (re)bought the old domain and installed a fake website with a fake submission platform on it, with the sole intention to ask $3520 Article Processing Fee to the authors! Be aware, don’t submit to their platform and if you already did, don’t pay their invoice created on OUR paper head and with OUR logo on it!
  • He/she managed to have that old domain https://acta-gastroenterologica.be and website to be put in our profile in the Journal Master List in Web of Science! We’re trying since July 2025 to have that old domain/website removed and to put our actual Official Website: https://www.ageb.be in there!!
